First class had great fun testing the strength of egg shells and learning all about pressure distribution!
First class had lots of fun constructing 3D shapes from marshmallows and cocktail sticks. They created a cube, a triangular-based pyramid and a square-based pyramid in pairs. They then tested the strength of each of the 3D shapes by pressing down on them. They discovered the cube to be the weakest of the three shapes. Each pair made their own adaptations to their cube with the aim of strengthening it! The girls found that triangular shapes worked best!
There was lots of excitement this week as the girls made hypothesis' before carrying out some fun experiments!
First Class kicked off Climate Action Week in style! They each made a pledge to help fight climate change. They won some delicious cupcakes from #greenschools and were delighted!
