Board of Management
The Board of Management of Scoil Mhuire is responsible for the running of the school according to its ethos and the Rules of Primary Schools. The Board ensures that all legal requirements are met and correspondence with the Department of Education and Skills is conducted by the Chairperson.
The Board of Management is the corporate body which takes responsibility for all aspects of school life - its role now described under the following headings:
The Board also supports and is supported by a very active Parents Association.
The structure of the Board of Scoil Mhuire is according to the Catholic Primary School Managers Association and consists of :
Ms. Josephine Henry (Chairperson) Archbishop’s Nominee
Fr. John Mc Donagh Archbishop’s Nominee
Mr. Donncha Cleary Principal
Ms. Amy McGuirk Teachers’ Nominee
Ms. Siobhan Cudmore Mothers’ Nominee - Treasurer
Mr. Billy Murnane Fathers’ Nominee
Mrs. Niamh Vaughan Community Nominee
Mr. Derek Tynan Community Nominee
The Board meets once a month (or at least once a term) to discuss the running of the school and to discharge its legal and mandatory requirements as a Board.
An Agenda is drawn up by the Chairperson and the Principal, and members are free to submit items for the Agenda ten days before the next meeting. This allows time for items on the Agenda to be prioritised and timed.
At the end of each meeting, those that should be reported to teachers, staff and /or parents are noted and the relevant communication is decided upon.

- Mother
- Father
- when these 6 people have been elected, they must unanimously agree on the two representatives from the wider community..
