It was with profound sadness that we learned the news of the passing of Ms. Marie Gildea, following a recent illness.
Ms. Gildea was a wonderful teacher and a dear friend to all who worked alongside her. For many years, she dedicated herself to nurturing the young girls of our school. Her kindness, passion for teaching, and her unique interests – including Lego and knitting – will be fondly remembered by generations of students.
As Ms. Gildea's final classes before her retirement were our fifth and sixth classes, it was a poignant and fitting tribute that they formed a guard of honour at her funeral.
Our entire school community extends our deepest sympathies to her husband, Terry, her children, Rachel and James, her mother, Rita, and her extended family and friends.
