Congratulations to the girls from 5th and 6th Class on their fantastic win in the recent Credit Union Quiz.
Library week was so much fun. We really enjoyed it because we did so many activities.
We went on a book blind date where they put a book in an envelope that had a clue written on it. We each picked a book and were given a week to read it.
Each class also did a scavenger hunt, we we had to guess the teacher's favourite book.
We got the library all done up and organised. The school chose a few names for a brand new library. At the end we all voted for "Bookingham Palace".
We definitely think that more children will start reading more and more books.
We would love to thank all the teachers who put in so much effort for our fun.

This year we took part in the mini Intel you scientist project. There were nine different projects such as:
Do used tea bags and coffee grounds help plants to grow?
Who gets more exercise First or 6th class?
Who spends more time on their screens girls or boys?
Does the colour of your hair affect how fast it grows?
Can we reduce food waste in our school?
How can we keep cut flowers longer?
Online school v Traditional school?
Do you know whats in your hair?
What are we drinking?
At the end the judges picked a runner up and a winner. Te rnner up was Do used teabags and coffee help plants to grow? The winner was. Does the colour of your hair affect how fast hair grows?
We all had so much doing this and we think other classes would enjoy it too.
As part of the Halloween celebrations all of the girls in 5th and 6th Class were given a pumpkin to carve. On the day of the Halloween holidays we brought our fabulous creations down to the village and put them on display around the village. It was a really enjoyable project for us all - and looked great around Sandymount.
Thanks to the Sandymount organising committee, Michael Byrne's, Tesco and other local shops in the village for supplying the pumpkins and suporting such a great project.
