The ability to analyse, interpret and discuss books and stories is an essential skill for us in 6th class, and will become even more important next year as we begin secondary school. One area we've explored is that of character. Characters in stories often display many different characteristics. Good characters will have a mixture of positive and negative traits and change as the story progresses. We've started practising these skills of identifying the traits of various characters, proving it with examples from the story and writing it in a structured way, using our phrases and paragraphs.
